Improving access to Emergency Food Provisions

Trussell Trust research has predicted that UK food banks will give out 6 parcels a minute this winter.

The number of food bank referrals we make each week is already steadily rising and in preparation for the predicted increase of need we are launching a new service. Many Haringey residents who call us seeking support with emergency food don't necessarily require specialist advice at the time of calling, so we are launching this new service which will provide a shorter route for Haringey residents to receiving that emergency food support.

Completely volunteer led and available every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (except Bank Holidays) people can contact this service by phoning on or sending a Whatsapp message to 07713927014 between the hours of 10 am and 3 pm. Upon calling you will be connected to one of our volunteer Crisis Navigators who will be able to assess your need for emergency food support and refer you to the most suitable food bank in the borough.

This service will go live from 10 am on Monday 19th October 2020. Please note that if you require advice on issues such as housing, debt, benefits or employment you will still need to call our dedicated Advice Line on 0300 330 1187 (Mon-Fri, 9-5) to speak to one of our fully trained advisers.
