New Chair of Trustees appointed
Following a hugely successful recruitment campaign, where its board has been strengthened with the addition of several new members, Citizens Advice Haringey (CAH) is delighted to announce the appointment of Lorna Reith, as the new Chair of Trustees. Lorna, who commences her role on the 14th April, takes over from Andy Love who has been chair since 2015.
Lorna is an experienced CEO and Chair who has led a number of National and local voluntary organisations, she has also been a Haringey councillor and cabinet member. She lives locally and is well connected to many local organisations. “I am delighted to be joining Citizens Advice Haringey at this time” said Lorna “the team provide a vital service to the community, which is never more needed than now” CEO Daniel Blake commented “ we are very pleased to be getting someone with Lorna’s knowledge, expertise and connections as we face the challenges over the coming months” he continues “ as we seek to modernise the way in which we deliver our advice services, I am looking forward to working with Lorna and the rest of the board to meet the demand we face locally” Lorna also paid tribute to outgoing chair Andy Love “Andy has really done a remarkable job whilst being chair. The organisation is equipped to remain a shining light locally because of his leadership. The quality of its services is recognised within and outside of the borough and Andy should be very proud of what he has achieved. I am delighted that he has decided to remain on the board and I am looking forward to working with him for many years” CAH provides a free confidential advice service around welfare benefits, debt, housing, employment and consumer issues for those living, working and studying in Haringey. CAH also provides a Universal credit support service for anyone needing to access Universal credit. CAH is part of the Connected Communities programme.
