Private Rented Accomodation Project

Citizens Advice and Pro Bono Community:

Private Rented Accommodation Support for young people.

We have recently established a partnership with Pro Bono Community and National Lottery Community Fund funding has enabled us to set up a clinic every Thursday aiming to support young people in private rented accommodation in Haringey.

The clinic is remote and therefore has been set up to give advice via email, telephone and video call.

The clinic is staffed by 13 Volunteers sourced through Pro-Bono Community. All of these volunteers are currently studying Law.

The initial query must be one related to Housing and the following advice areas are a guideline of what issues the project will take on:

  • Rent Arrears

  • Disrepair

  • Threatened Homelessness

  • Landlord Harassment

  • Eviction

  • Benefit Checks

  • Deposit Issues

Age Restrictions:

Our aim will be to support young people. As a guideline this is people under the age of 35.

As part of Citizens Advice Haringey, we will be able to refer more complex cases or cases that fall outside of the remit of our project through to our team of specialist advisers. However, the initial query must be related to Private Rented Accommodation in order for us to process the case.

Any requests for assistance, referrals or queries about the project should be emailed to the following:

For external agencies we would like confirmation of consent to be contacted as well as any relevant contact details for the person in question.
