#questionnaires

Our Research and Campaigns team are currently looking at the impact COVID-19 has had on Haringey residents Housing circumstances, ability to afford food and employment security.

With this in mind we are conducting three questionnaires on those subjects. If you live in Haringey and have found that COVID-19 has impacted your housing, employment or ability to afford food we politely ask if you could take a few minutes to complete the relevant questionnaire.

Housing Questionnaire

Since the advent of COVID-19, there has been a rise in precarious housing circumstances in the UK. Policies have been put in place with an attempt to protect those affected by COVID-19 such as mortgage holidays and a freeze on evictions in the private rented sector. While this response from central Government has been welcome, these issues are set to persist beyond the withdrawal of emergency measures.

There is a very real need to address housing insecurity, not least on a local level. As such, we have designed a questionnaire to explore the impact COVID-19 has had on housing security. We invite anyone who lives within the Borough of Haringey to contribute to this research with the aim of shaping policy that will protect local people’s housing security beyond the emergency measures.

Food Questionnaire

The COVID-19 outbreak has significantly exacerbated the issue of food poverty affecting the Borough of Haringey. It has placed ever more pressure on family’s financial resources. The impact is clearly shown by the soaring demand at food banks, in the increased applications for food parcels, and demand for free school meals. Tackling the causes of food poverty is a key priority for Citizens Advice Haringey.

Employment Questionnaire

The COVID-19 crisis has had a large and often disproportionally negative impact on peoples employment. Broad emergency policies have been put in place by the Government to support businesses and to minimise redundancies. Whilst welcome, Citizens Advice Haringey recognises that these measures serve only to delay the inevitable employment shock when these policies are withdrawn.
